The Sangoma Y-cable (Cable 632) easily adapts Sangoma’s latest A400 series high-density, analog PCI card to patch panels and terminal blocks with Amphenol harnesses. You may prefer this method of connection in order to terminate one or more A400s into a 24 port patch panel via an M/F Amphenol cable. The A400 comes with a 25-pin serial cable ending in open wires for punching down into a block. By purchasing the optional Y Cable, there is no need to punch-down or crimp.
This specially fabricated Y-cable features two DB25 connectors at one end and an Amphenol interface at the other. This design consolidates two A400 boards, each supporting 12 ports, into one 24-port system. Since the A400 can scale to 48 ports, installed side-by-side, you can simply use two Y-cables to terminate the boards into a single 48 port patch panel.
We are proud that the Y-cable was a concept proposed to Sangoma by our product manager, who made the suggestion shortly before the product’s release.
