AEI Intelligent Technologies' CompactPCI dual port 10/100/1000 Gigabit Ethernet card (CP1200TX) is designed to deliver high performance, and high reliability for demanding applications, as well as legacy Fast Ethernet connectivity. It provides a full-duplex Gigabit Ethernet connection on an IEEE-compliant 3U Eurocard form factor (Optional 6U adapter kit). The Gigabit Ethernet interfaces provides unparalleled server throughput that helps reduce administrative complexity by replacing multiple slower interface cards with a single Gigabit adapter. Furthermore, the CP1200TX is competitively priced to compete against other multi-channel Fast Ethernet cards for those applications requiring port density.
AEI's adapters are the perfect solution for a cost effective, instant performance boost over existing Category 5 UTP copper cabling. It also offers scalability for those contemplating future upgrades to Gigabit technology.
AEI's CompactPCI adapters support multiprocessing. It is possible to have more than one processor board on a CompactPCI backplane. These boards can take control of the PCI bus and send data directly to another PCI peripheral on the bus. The PCI bus on the host processor (system controller) arbitrates the access to the PCI bus if several intelligent peripherals (slaves) attempt to take control of the PCI bus at the same time. This type of multiprocessing is typically designed to let intelligent peripherals perform dedicated tasks to offload the host CPU.
Design Characteristics
The CP1200TX supports and auto-negotiates between 32/64-bit, and 33/66/100/133 MHz datapaths. Built with PCI-X technology, the CP1200TX supports PICMG standard PCI specifications, and also embedded PCI-X single board computers. It is uniquely designed with integrated magnetics, low profile surface mount resistors and capacitors, high precision oscillator, and other high-end discrete components. The result is a card that is highly reliable, resistant to damage, fault tolerant, and performance that is unparalleled. The P1200TX is fully interoperable with existing Fast Ethernet or Gigabit Ethernet hubs, switches and routers.
Hardware Hot Swap Compliant
The AEI Gigabit adapter is designed to be hot swap compliant. This hot-swap support reduces downtime by allowing administrators to insert, remove, and upgrade cards while the system is still powered-up and operating. Please contact us if you are interested in hot-swap drivers.
Boot ROM Support
AEI designs its server class Gigabit adapters with Boot ROM support, and offers embedded programming services (no charge) for all popular operating systems. Thus, OEMs can utilize distribution servers to ease installation, and provide seamless integration of the CP1200TX into its designs.
Jumbo Frame
The Gigabit adapter is configurable to support Jumbo Frame (Up to 16KB)
Advanced Server Features
AEI's CompactPCI Gigabit adapters utilize the popular Intel 82546 chipset, which comes with numerous advance server features built into its architecture. Hardware acceleration offloads tasks from the host processor including TCP/UDP/IP checksum calculations and TCP segmentation. Link aggregation, failover, and load balancing are offered, and the adapter is also fully compliant with Gigabit EthernetChannel and Fast EtherChannel trunking algorithms. (With switches which support 802.3ad (LACP))
