The Polycom KIRK Wireless Server 6000 solution consists of a number of different infrastructure elements, which can be joined to combine a wireless solution customized to the exact needs of the individual customer in medium-sized and large businesses. The infrastructure elements of the KIRK Wireless Server 6000 solution are the KIRK Wireless Server 6000, KIRK Media Resources, KIRK IP Base Stations, KIRK Repeaters, and KIRK Handsets. Combined they make up a complete wireless enterprise solution.

The KIRK Wireless Server 6000 is a scalable solution to which infrastructure elements can be added in accordance with changes in business needs. This makes the KIRK Wireless Server 6000 solution an ideal choice for fast-growing and large businesses.

The KIRK Wireless Server 6000 solution can fulfil wireless needs of up to 4,096 mobile employees, and can grow with you as your organization expands. A flexible license option allows you to only pay for extra users when you need them. Your business expands, you pay, and you have more mobile users.

In its basic version, the infrastructure of the KIRK Wireless Server 6000 solution consists of the server itself, KIRK IP Base Stations, and KIRK Handsets.

Should an increasing need for additional voice channels arise, the KIRK Media Resource can easily be added to the solution, which adds another 32 channels to the KIRK Wireless Server 6000 solution per Media Resource. Also, if you find that you need to extend the radio coverage, you can easily achieve this by adding KIRK IP Base Stations or KIRK Repeaters to the KIRK Wireless Server 6000 solution.

Also, Rendudancy can be added to the solution to secure your business, communication, and information in case parts of the system infrastructure break down or need to restart.

System Architecture

The KIRK Wireless Server 6000 is a control unit acting as a SIP integration unit to the SIP IP-PBX. Also, it controls and handles all other infrastructure elements
The maximum number of users across the entire system is controlled by an upgradeable PIN code licensing system. The system comes with 0 users licensed and a user license PIN code must be purchased (30, 150, 500, 1500 and 4096 user licenses are available).

Required Elements for a KWS 6000 System

For each KIRK Wireless Server 6000 system deployment, you will need this product (KIRK Wireless Server 6000), a user license PIN code (see User Licensing below), as well as one or more KIRK IP Base Stations. If you will be supporting more than 32 concurrent voice calls, you will need one or more KIRK Media Resources (up to 32 concurrent voice channels are supported on the base Wireless Server). Optionally depending on your environment, you may also need one or more KIRK DECT Repeater.

Each KIRK Wireless Server 6000 can support up 4,096 registered handsets, you need only one per deployment.
Each KIRK IP Base Station supports up to 11 concurrent calls and provides the wireless signal to the handsets, and a maximum of 256 KIRK IP Base Stations per system.
Each KIRK Media Resource supports up to 32 concurrent calls (G.711), and a maximum of 32 KIRK Media Resources per system (1,024 concurrent G.711 calls).
Each KIRK DECT Repeater supports up to 4 concurrent calls, and up to 3 KIRK Repeaters are supported on each KIRK IP Base Station.

An optional KIRK Codec Module is available for G.729AB support. This is installed in each KIRK Media Resource, reducing the maximum number of concurrent calls per media resource to 24 when using G.729.
