The latest addition to the Vega 50 portfolio, the Vega 50 Europa VoIP Gateway connects a range of legacy telephony equipment, including PBXs, ISDN telephones, ISDN, analog phones and the PSTN to IP networks. The Europa supports up to 10 analog ports, and either 4 or 8 basic rate ISDN channels on 4 interfaces - 4 BRI interfaces supporting NT and TE mode.
The following gateway configurations are available as standard:
- 4 FXS + 2 FXO
- 8 FXS + 2 FXO
- 2 BRI Interfaces (4 channels)
- 4 BRI Interfaces (8 channels)
Features & Benefits
Total Flexibility of BRI and Analog Configuration
Each BRI Interface is independently configurable as either Network (NT) or Terminal Side (TE) and allows the Vega 50 Europa to be connected to both a PBX and the ISDN simultaneously. This eliminates disruption to the configuration of existing equipment and increases the flexibility and choices available for call routing.
The Vega 50 Europa is configurable for different country requirements including tones and line impedance, 600R, 900R or CTR-21 making it easy to deploy for a wide variety of applications. This ensures that VegaStream connected networks, within multinational site locations, can be supported with confidence.
Open, Non-Proprietary, Configurable Interfaces
The Basic Rate Interface (BRI) Vega 50 Europa VoIP Gateways support ETSI BRI while the analog variants support standard Loop Start signalling resulting in significant levels of interoperability with a wide range of existing telecommunications systems. VegaStream VoIP Gateways also support SIP, H.323 and T.38 Fax and this extends that interoperability to a broad mix of VoIP equipment.
Lifeline PSTN Backup
Vega 50 Europa VoIP Gateway, when equipped with FXS ports, are also fitted with two FXO ports. When powered, Vega 50 Europa will route calls to or from these two FXO ports. Under power failure conditions, the two FXO ports provide a hard-wired bypass feature to the two FXS ports. This allows PSTN calls still to be made, giving resilience and confidence of business continuity, even under power failure conditions.
